The top 5 largest wildfires in Southern California history all occurred within the past 3 years. 3 of those being this year.

They so far total 1,780,000~ acres.

To put in comparison, the next 15 largest fires combine, dating back since 1932, only total 3,000,000 ~ acres.

And of these top 20 largest wildfires, 17 of them have occurred after the turn of the millennium.

Again, this is only Southern California. We've seen unprecedented wildfires in a lot of places around the world in the recent decade.

I am praying against all hope that the endangered Kangaroo rats will make it out alive! These rats are the reason California no longer cleans the forest floor to prevent forest fires. The dry wood of their habitat is fuel for fire. People can rebuild their homes, no problem, but these precious kangaroo rats might become extinct if the fires burn them out of their natural habitats.

Looks like scheduled power outages next day or two up here.

It's actually visible (daytime at least) on 14 of 24 SDG&E cameras, and it at 1500 acres back at 6pm, probably larger now.
