Words like "interesting," "unusual," "odd" and such should be used to describe more mundane events.

No exclamation points for quakes below 7.0 magnitude or less than 1,000 deaths

1 exclamation point for 7.0-8.0 magnitude quakes with 1,000-10,000 deaths.

2 exclamation points for 8.0-9.0 magnitude quakes with 10,000-100,000 deaths

3 exclamation points for 9.0 and above magnitude quakes with loss of life above 100,000.

1 exclamation point may be added for a significant tsunami.

So, given that standard - the OP should have titled this thread "Unusual earthquake hits England"
