Yes because they were white. If it had been two black girls they would have never seen a cop let alone go to jail.

I think it's great that shit like this is finally being dealt with, but 15 years in prison would be a brutal punishment for what they did. That's not a fair punishment if they end up getting that much time. Just 21 years old - just a dumb thing they did... and to throw their lives away over this is not right either.

Au contraire. They are each facing up to 25 years in the pen, big fines and years of supervised probation. The state is coming down heavy with those charges. If not guilty on the hate crimes they are still looking at 10 years hard time on the other charges which are pretty much open and shut easy convictions based on the video evidence. Those two are in a world of shit.
