Yes Col. Lind discusses the history of warfare and the 4th generation of modern warfare, he illustrates that the reason for the lack of success in Iraq, and Afgan. Was that the enemy was using 4GW while the US was fighting a conventional war.

In 4GW the enemy wears no uniform, hits and melts into the general population. They often use gorilla tactics and hit secondary targets, like infrastructure, bridges, powerlines, water supply, and IED's.

I do believe that that is why the left is pushing so hard to be in power when it happens, and believe that in the next 3 years we will see solar storms knocking out a lot of things due to the weakened magnetosphere.

The problem is that our infrastructure sucks and is not guarded well either.

Many years ago when the news reported snipers firing at substations or transformers made us think about how could someone disable a city by attacking its infrastructure. We got maps and found substations, transformers, sewer lines, water lines, power lines, etc and we noticed that none of them were really guarded. Some substations in nicer neighborhoods were kind of hidden and had cctv but we were able to stroll around and take photos without anyone coming out to say boo about it. We have no intent of harming anything, we just were curious if someone could potentially do this and I think it is 100% possible. The only one really guarded were the water plants, someone finally showed up when we were taking pictures of them, but we found there are areas with above ground pipeline that isn't guarded at all so it is kind of moot.

Long story short, all it takes is someone who wants to harm our country. There are little protections around the lifelines of cities around here.

That's why the rural right would win, the cities are leftwing islands, cut off the power, heat, fuel, and food, and surround them, then they loose in every scenario that has been wargamed by the pentagon.
