There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory mentioned, which states that this has already happened. |

Quoting: FallingSkies4 I am curious if you guys are getting normal seasonal shipments to your stores? I used to be a retail manager and I have been shopping around and noticing a lot of odd things happening with seasonal changes and the Christmas season. Did you get your usual black friday/holiday items? Are your corporate offices mandating/suggesting limits on items that are not usually limited? Are you noticing any big delays or lack of shipments? Are you missing key items that are carried all year round? Are you being encouraged to utilize devices to order inventory in for shopping customers due to lack of anything in the store? The reason I am asking is because I’m trying to get a gauge on how bad or not bad things may be this winter. I know most stores are always a season or two ahead. This will give all of us a good gauge on what to watch for. I’m thinking about clothing for children, especially good winter stuff. I am having a hard time finding lower priced winter jackets etc. May just be a regional issue. I’m already hearing chatter about getting Christmas gifts now because nothing will be left. I find it interesting retail is throwing in the towel with Black Friday. I never thought that would happen. Makes me think nobody has anything |

Doubt that helps much as to what the OP is requesting but it was interesting to see and felt far earlier than last year for the Christmas items. It would make sense though, I've noticed at the local Wal-Mart and grocery stores efforts to conceal empty shelving either by removing items completely and spreading out existing, or pulling seasonal items out before their time and putting them out as a stop gap. |

At Wal-Mart, all Halloween stocked and I saw some Hallmark Christmas ornaments already. Life is a lemon and I want my money back. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 75857706 I am interested because we are getting close to buy retail stocks. Anyone seeing this as well? I’ve noticed TJ Max, Marshall’s and Ross are depressingly bare. It makes me so sad. I know nothing about their business models. |

We’re entering the Sugar Season and it won’t be pretty what with the immune lowering masks and social distancing, stress restrictions and covid. The Sugar season starts with kids going back to school - new schedules then ramps up at Halloween, followed by thanksgiving over indulgence, Christmas over indulgence and plain old holiday stress. Topped off with New Years and Super Bowl parties. The immune system takes a hard hit and the flu ‘season’ just happens to occur during the Sugar Season. Coinky dink. Big pHARMa loves it. |

We're in a "pandemic". Hoarding of select items is on going. When it was at its height in the beginning, manufacturers were either ramping up production on top sellers or repurposing to high demand pandemic items. Their off shoot products went off line & are slowly trickling back in as they gradually move back to normalcy. No. Your either from a small town or just plain fear mongering. Your questions as a former retail manager are questionable & answerable by common sense. Yes, there's out of stock positions for alot of products....but just look at the state of the world's economy as a whole post covid & your answers are clear as day. |

Same with thrift stores. They are sparse with what we normally buy and resell. I'm not sure if it is people not donating or if people are just buying more thrift stuff due to the economic downturn. I see cars lined up to donate so I think it may just be it is flying off the shelves since people are trying to save money. |

I live in the south just outside of the 4th largest city in my state. I know there are a lot of out of stock issues. I’m just trying to get a gauge on it because I am seeing a lot of fear mongering out there, especially on here. I am putting questions out there because I want to see what people are actually seeing and hearing behind the scenes. I guess the question I really should be asking is just how bad is it going to get or it is. If not, I am looking forward to positive news! I personally am extremely skeptical about the future and how much things will be changing based off of the “Great Reset” philosophy and what that may mean for stores I rely on for my basics. |

I suspect that as soon as shit hits the fan they will start putting restrictions on items and that will make it a hassle to prep... so do it now and don’t let your inventory levels drop. Have a nice day = GFY. GFY = Go Fuck Yourself. If this offends you then have a nice day. |

DOOMshakalaka User ID: 77193149 United States 09/10/2020 12:47 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I work part time for one of the nation's biggest auto parts suppliers. No holiday shipments at all, has been a noticeable disruption in the supply chain with some spots sitting for weeks or longer empty because we just can't get stuff in. Corporate is making a major push to partner up with other businesses for certain goods and services, nobody is getting raises and they are pushing like crazy to get people buying online. Most other part time employees there seem to be in agreement that most (if not all of us) will be lucky to have a job a year from now. I own my own small business which pays the bills so I am not as worried as some of them who will truly be up feces creek if that happens. At the current rate our nation and world is headed we should be in a hot war with China and their American Antifa militia by that point after a full economic collapse so none of that will matter anyway. |
