we do face a crisis that human population levels are threatening the environment and the ability to preserve wildlife habitats

in terms of continuing development, it would be preferable NOT to turn the entire world into a paved parking lot

we do need to find some way out of military competition between the great global powers

there is a theory called the technological singularity ... certainly we should worry that technologies may be developed that will threaten our existence

why not just deal with all this directly and openly ?
