Monopoly is a bit random with the dice rolls determining where you land enabling you to purchase property. RISK however requires strategy. Which rules do you play? 12 army per territory limit (for the very best players)? Chain redeployment or every arm gets one movement at the end of each turn? Floating sets or fixed sets when you cash in your cards? World Domination or Missions? (Got to be world Dom doesn't it?) |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 79354550 New Zealand 09/11/2020 06:53 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | RISK...........Or axis and allies......Nothing like a good"O" board game Axis is broken. If you have played the game extensively you will know the side who wins is determined by who wins the first big engagement between Germany and Russia on the boarder. We discovered this when we were 14. Played it out hundreds of times, it is always the same. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 77681791 United States 12/23/2020 10:10 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Risk. Especially when you have like 5-6 people to play. I like Monopoly too though. Well when I win at least, lol. Though neither game is high on strategy really even Risk. (Chess is my game) Better yet... how about Monopoly Tycoon and the Civilization series? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79791710 I didn't think there was a ton of strategy until that guy mentioned all these different rule sets. i play civ 6. i never played multiplayer...just vs. the AI. |

Can't get into 6 as 5 for whatever reason. Mostly the graphics in 6 make my eyes want to bleed but I guess there's a mod for that. Multiplayer is a lot of fun |

There is a ton of strategies in civ games. Probably more in 6 than 5 imo but the graphics in 6 is just a big turn off to me. There's a group called "no quitters" around I think if you want to look into multiplayer. |

By less fun I mean power gamers making it frustrating. |
