Help With A Blind House Cat
Two years ago we rescued a cat that had one eye. She has a detached retina in her good eye and the vet says she is not a candidate for surgery and is effectively blind.

Any helpful suggestions to help us accommodate to her situation will be gratefully appreciated.

We don't plan to have her 'put down'.

Re: Help With A Blind House Cat
I think most domestic animals will adapt to losing their sight.

Don't move furniture around or leave things where they normally wouldn't be.

Keep indoor doors always open if your cat likes to wander around the house like most cats do.

Keep things calm and no loud or scary noise surprises that your cat won't know what it is, and freaks

Hope your wee cat is ok, I'm sure it will be as he/she seems to have a concerned owner who loves it.

When u want to approach her without startling her if she is sleeping. Blow lightly in her direction on her head . Then she wont be startled . She will know ur there.

The cat doesn't need to see, it has already possessed you.

Re: Help With A Blind House Cat
Always let them smell your hand before picking them up or waking them.

Always use the same words to communicate to them.

People are making ‘bumper collars’ that help them navigate and learn their surroundings.

Plenty of helpful videos.

Was her "Left Eye blind" ?

Was her name Lucy, the industrial robot cat.. "Made in Japan"?

I suggest to feed her to the wolves in the forest.

They are having a population problem.
