We have a lot of assholes in Los Angeles that would do this. Homeless sacks of shit throwing rocks on freeway, pissing out of top floor of parking lots on top of crowds walking under... doesn't take much imagination seeing these subhumans lighting individual trees on fire.

Midwesterner relocated to CA. There’s a ton of misconception about this part of the country. I think people don’t realize that this is like Italy or Greece’s climate; it’s not simply raking leaves in the fall and cutting the grass during the spring/summer.

Leaves fall year round depending on whether it’s rained or there’s been a heat wave, and cleaning the crowns of palm trees is extremely expensive. The fronds are massive spine-covered things that weigh 2-4lbs.

It’s really interesting and amazing to see the diversity of the US. I’ve learned a ton just from observing the outdoors between Midwest and CA

They have been selling fire starting flashlights on the internet for sometime. Just piont and ignight.

You can tell it's a real palm tree, and there's zero wind in the video, so it was NOT started by embers blowing in from another fire.

I'd say the palm tree was drinking too much tequila, and after a smoke it spontaneously combusted.
