My 'current' take on a short gist of philosophy..


Major branches of philosophy:

Metaphysics (existence)

Logic (study of and acceptable truth)

Epistemology (knowledge)

Ethics (morality)


Linear interpretation of the major branches of philosophy:

1. metaphysics 2. logic 3. epistemology 4. ethics

1. The metaphysics as foundation of existence; what is out there? & what it is like?
- "Metaphysics studies questions related to what it is for something to exist and what types of existence there are. Metaphysics seeks to answer, in an abstract and fully general manner, the questions: 1. What is there? 2. What is it like"

2. The logic deals with what constitutes truth in metaphysics.

Then..

3. The epistemology depends on experience of logic.

Then..

4. The ethics as authority for action, depending on epistemology.

Then..

The cycle goes on, sometime can be jumped to any between (non-linear manner) as situational dependent.
