Pascal Soriot:
If various press-releases and articles from many media out-lets are accurate, AstraZeneca has partnered with and intends to deliver their Covid-19 vaccine (AZD1222) to numerous countries around the world, including England, Wales, Scotland, United States, Australia and various countries in Europe. Specifically, AstraZeneca may deliver hundreds of millions of doses of their Covid-19 vaccine world-wide.
As you are well aware, two volunteers in the UK trial developed symptoms of transverse myelitis according to the New York Times. Transverse myelitis has been scientifically linked to vaccines.
Ruud Dobbler, a senior executive at AstraZeneca, has told Reuters there is no option of payments to recipients of the Covid-19 vaccine that develop side-effects.
Therefore, considering the two UK volunteers mentioned above and the fact that AstraZeneca has paid out over $1 billion in civil law-suits previously, can you confirm that AstraZeneca will be not compensating side-effect victims of their Covid-19 vaccine?
