Odd storm but they really failed the people though. It was going west so we only prepared for that. Oh, now let’s bullseye you at the last minute when it’s too late to leave or prepare more. Thank the Lord my windows have held so far with no boards on them.. We have been in the eye for about 30 minutes now. About 5 miles from the beach here in G S. Quiet.. just a few sounds of metal flapping in the occasional breezes. We just got our asses handed to us in my neighborhood. Houses across the street have big oaks on them and heavy damage. My carport is down but we got the vehicles out of the during a lull just a couple of minutes before it came down. Part of my ridge vent is gone and I have water damage in my new restoration job. The RV is ok though and a big limb barely missed my pickup. Thank you Lord for your mercies so far.. The RV survived!! I had my droughts. Is the power still off. |

Today it made landfall very near to Pensacola instead. Crazy. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79374277 yeah that might have fooled some into not preparing over in western FL even though the NHC had posted 4-7 foot storm surge with a very slow storm that could produce up to 30 inches of rain on Monday - plus the eastern side always gets the brunt. Sally was a bit of a misbehaver, but anymore you got to take all tropical storms seriously regardless. Due to relatively high winds still coming ashore Emergency crews are not able to get out into the public in Baldwin county which is out of power. |
