Looking at the recon and discussion, I agree with NHC that because it is basically sitting in the same spot it is creating upwelling which is cooling the water together with moderate shear-- this shouldnt intensify much. If anything it might decrease in intensity, although that still has zero effect on the amount of rain it will drop in the region.
