Lived there for 7 years from age 4 to 11, and all up and down the fiords on both sides, there were bonfires as far as you could see. At the time, they were made of telephone poles in a teepee shape that burned all day and night. Quite a spectacular sight, to say the least. Apparently they are using pallets now and have the record for the largest at 34 meters tall. Seeker that is so kool. Thanks for sharing! |

BTW, they are really nice people! That would make me nervous. Disasters follow them. It is a little nerve racking, perils of living on the coast. Really awesome to witness though! They aren't conspiracy theories, they're spoiler alerts. |

That's a big jump No freakin way. The radar has this making landfall in 4-6 hours. It doesn't have time to strengthen that much. It's barely a hurricane right now. I was watching TWC all day until we lost cable about 4 hours ago, and I've been following Accuweather since then. TWC has been saying 20-30 inches all day. Accuweather projects more like 8, which is consistent with what I've been seeing. From the projected satellite, we're going to get the eyewall about midnight to 2am, and it doesn't look a whole lot worse than it is now, which is not that bad. Planning on being up until about 2, but it's been surprisingly not so bad. I've only seen lightning maybe twice, and haven't heard of any tornadoes yet. The spring long track tornadoes in Central Alabama are a lot scarier than this. The flooding was the thing I worried about the most, but that hasn't materialized except right near the beach. Good practice hurricane. John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. |

But the longer it sits overland, the more the rain totals go up. Moonstar |

They show an 18 inch band off-shore that will be coming ashore in about 2 hours. That's 30 inches plus what ever else comes through the night into tomorrow morning. Lot's of trees are going to come down with the long-duration winds. |
