Re: Tropical Storm Sally is now a Cat One Hurricane
Latest tracking has Sally making landfall near Biloxi MS as a Category Two hurricane late tomorrow evening or early Wednesday.

There will be a lot of rain, wind and high tide/storm surge in the meantime..

Looks like the panhandle of Florida will take a mighty pounding from this gal before landfall.

It appears that Paulette was a Category Two or a very strong Cat One as she crossed Bermuda not long ago.

Paulette has an interesting track for the next few days. Might she circle back around??

Tropics are HOT. Five systems and a possible 6th in the lower right corner.

Tropical storm Vicky is the latest as Teddy was named yesterday. Teddy stretches from the middle of the Atlantic basin to South America and Vicky stretches from Teddy to Africa. Potential number twenty-two and the last of the English alphabet names before switching to Greek alphabet is coming off Africa and would be Wilfred.

Oh yeah almost forgot there is another something in the western gulf. That would make Seven storms.

hmm so 3 cats would be 3x9 which is 27. We have 21 names for 2020. Wilfred is #21.

We must watch out for the 6th Greek that comes our way.

20 names used by September 14th. That has to be a record.

Well it is 2020

Bermuda is 14 miles long and 1 mile wide... the biggest island. If it's still there. Amazing... can't even imagine.

bump

I got a different number. Matters little though. I found it fascinating that the entire island (main island) got the eye - what's the odds of that??

(Bermuda is approximately 21 miles long and 1.75 miles wide at its widest point.)

Sally's going be one for the record books. Every hurricane is unique and why people need to be aware.

Tomorrow morning she's forecasted to be south of the Mississippi river and will hardly move the next 12 hours.

Basically 2 days of pounding as it slo0o0o0owly comes ashore.

From now until Wednesday morning Sally will not be much further along than the top of LA's boot toe or FL's panhandle as far as latitude.
