Must have been some spectacular sprites on top of her too. CAT 2 now Heard the NHC guy say it might be a major hurricane at landfall...something about 'one-up' thinking. |

Best bet is to leave and leave soon if you're subject to levee system and/or live below sea level.. below sea level won't be a good place to be. Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 78689367 United States 09/14/2020 06:58 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Category two hurricane Sally could be a category three at landfall. The track has shifted east throughout the day, which means that due to the slow speed it could strengthen an extra day over the warm Gulf water, as compared to a landfall near New Orleans and the peninsula sticking out in the Gulf to the southeast. They've got us locked in our dorms till probably Wednesday Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79217366 You'll be close to landfall - somewhere around the MS/AL border. I suspect it might be in AL. Worse case scenario would be up Mobile Bay and landfall at Mobile. Where ever it makes landfall the highest storm surge will be east of the storm. Unfortunately, it could be moving so slow or come to a stall, that it could be pushing storm surges through several high tide cycles. Be safe! It may not make landfall until early Wednesday morning. |
Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 78689367 United States 09/14/2020 08:02 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Hurricane Sally is now a strong category two hurricane with 100 mph winds. Chances are looking good for a category three at landfall for it has at least another full day yet, only 11 more mph to make a cat 3. Moving along at 5 mph. Could be the better part of 2 more days before landfall sometime Wednesday morning. |
