his is a lot to unpack, but there’s more, and Michael Anton has done a lot of the heavy lifting.

In a piece for The American Mind called “The Coming Coup,” Anton lays out step-by-step what Democrats are planing for the fall, and it’s not pretty.

“As if 2020 were not insane enough already, we now have Democrats and their ruling class masters openly talking about staging a coup. You might have missed it, what with the riots, lockdowns and other daily mayhem we’re forced to endure in this, the most wretched year of my lifetime. But it’s happening,” he begins.

We already know Democrats and their Marxist Leftist cadres in the Deep State have been trying to depose Trump since he was elected. They can’t do to him what they did to John F. Kennedy and his brother, Robert Kennedy; times are much different now. The Trump-supporting public would no doubt go to war over the assassination of their president. So the deep state has had to work behind the scenes to fabricate events — the fake Russian collusion scandal; the phony impeachment; the endless accusations of scandal and malfeasance — and continually accusing Trump of being an authoritarian when, in fact, it’s the Democrat Left that is planning a violent revolution.

Anton notes further:

Over the summer, two former Army officers, both prominent in the Democrat-aligned “national security” think tank world, wrote an open letter to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs in which they urged him to deploy the 82nd Airborne Division to drag President Trump from the Oval Office at precisely 12:01 PM, January 20, 2021.

About a month later, Hillary Clinton declared publicly that Joe Biden should not concede the election “under any circumstances.” The old English major in me interprets the word “any” to mean “no,” “none,” “nada,” “niente,” “zero,” “zilch” “bupkis”…you get the idea.

This doesn’t sound like the rhetoric of a political party confident it will win an upcoming election.

Now — why would Democrats talk so openly like this? Because, as Anton notes, in order for the coup to succeed, it must not look like one.

“They need to plant the idea in the public mind, now, that their unlawful and illegitimate removal of President Trump from office will somehow be his fault. Never mind the pesky detail that the president would refuse to leave only if he were convinced he legitimately won. Remember: Biden should not concede under any circumstances,” he wrote.

And don’t think that the disgustingly dishonest media won’t play a part in all of this. Those battle lines were drawn long ago: ‘The American media’ has been in the tank for Democrats for decades. And on Election Night, their part of the coup will be to dispute the Trump victory and talk up all the ‘incoming ballots’ that Democrats ‘found’ in close states to make it appear as though Trump lost them (when he didn’t).

“For the rest of us, the most important thing we can do is raise awareness. If there is a conspiracy to remove President Trump from office even if he wins, they’re telling you about it precisely to get you ready for it, so that when it happens you won’t think it was a conspiracy; you’ll blame the president.

Such claims won't solve his Catholic problem. For one thing, invoking Pope Francis plays poorly in American politics, as the opponents of Donald Trump found out in 2016. Trump's poll numbers didn't fall but rose after the pope slammed his immigration position. Hiding behind an obnoxious left-wing pope won't help Biden any more than it helped Hillary and Kaine, who tried to drive that same wedge between Trump and Catholic voters. Kaine's faux-Catholic schtick — he regularly went on and on about his Jesuit Volunteer Corps work in Latin America with communists — went over like a lead balloon.

The Catholics who bother to go to Mass regularly anymore are loath to vote for a candidate who supports abortion in all its grisly stages and presides over gay weddings (as Biden has done since pushing Barack Obama to support gay marriage in 2012). These positions pose an insuperable impediment to picking up Catholic votes. Notice that Biden recites his I-grew-up-Catholic-in-Scranton lines less and less. His strategists have probably concluded that that routine will only remind people of his checkered Catholicism in the general election. His "private" Catholic stances grow fainter and fainter and can't even be found in a penumbra.

There was a time when the Mario Cuomos used to say that they were "personally opposed" to abortion. These days that rhetoric would ruin Catholic Democrats in the primaries. They can't even say that they want abortion safe, legal and rare — Bill Clinton's trope. Rank-and-file Dems would call them cowards for using that language. The base wants abortion safe or unsafe, legal to the hilt and as common as aspirin.

September 15, 2020 (LifeSiteNews) – In an attempt to scrape up support from Catholics for Democrat Joe Biden’s presidential bid, the recently launched “Catholics for Biden” organization has announced some three dozen national co-chairs, including some of the most dissident “Catholics” in the country.

One of the organization’s newest co-chairs is Carolyn Woo, former president and CEO of Catholic Relief Services (CRS), which is run by the U.S. Catholic bishops.


During her tenure at the scandal-plagued CRS, Woo doubled down on the organization’s “commitment to maintaining dues-paying memberships in contraception and abortion spreading organizations, providing funds to abortion and contraception distributing organizations, and retaining the employment of a vice president who is a homosexual activist in a same-sex ‘marriage,’” according to a Lepanto Insitute Report.

Democrats have good reason to try to pull out all the stops to garner Catholic support for their candidate: In 2016, Catholics pulled the lever for Republican Donald Trump over Democrat Hillary Clinton, 52% to 45%.

California Attorney General Xavier Becerra, who took over the prosecution of David Daleiden from former AG Kamala Harris – now Biden’s vice presidential running mate – for releasing undercover videos exposing Planned Parenthood’s trafficking in aborted baby body parts. Beccera also led 13 other state attorneys general in blocking the Trump Administration’s attempt to exempt religious organizations, including the Little Sisters of the Poor, from being forced to supply birth control and abortifacients as part of employee healthcare insurance.
Hillary Clinton’s former vice presidential running mate, Senator Tim Kaine, (D-VA). Kaine boasts a 100% rating from NARAL and Planned Parenthood. Earlier this year, Paprocki announced via Twitter, “I am offering my prayers and fasting during this penitential season of Lent for the conversion of Senator Dick Durbin, that he will return to the pro-life position he once held when he was first elected to public office by the people of central Illinois.”
Dr. Stephen Schneck, retired Director of the Institute for Policy and Research & Catholic Studies at The Catholic University of America and a former Obama White House appointee, has said that despite their pro-abortion policies, “it makes much more sense to support Democrats,” because of the other social issues they promote. Schneck is also a board member of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Catholic Climate Covenant, an organization which asserts, “Catholics do care about climate change.”
Sen. Bob Casey (D-PA), who first ran as a “pro-life Democrat,” currently has an 84% rating from NARAL, although in 2016 and 2017 he was given a 100% rating by the pro-abortion lobbying powerhouse. He also touts himself as “fighting for LGBTQ rights.”
Former Maryland Governor Martin O'Malley “pinked out” his Twitter photo as a sign of solidarity with Planned Parenthood during the questioning of Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards at a U.S. House hearing on September 29, 2015, according to Ballotpedia. He also tweeted, “Today, and everyday, I Stand With Planned Parenthood. We cannot let Republicans continue this attack that endangers health care for millions.”
