I agree that black people can convince themselves that their lives are less valuable than others because of many reasons, some of which are indeed systemic (or simply 'historical' for lack of a better word. I don't really like 'systemic' because it implies a permanent negativity) but I think it's important to let them know that they have a choice to pursue a self destructive path vs one of positivity and value. This is not the fault of the police. This is a race facing a lot of psychological problems for many reasons. Their outward anger and blame culture is coming from anger, but the anger is really about their own failure to be comfortable with who they are. This is not all black people of course, but the ones who are really struggling with issues need to be reminded of where they are in a post slavery America. They need to be reminded of the absolute limitless potential they have as citizens of a country that cherishes freedom for everyone, and they only thing holding them back is themselves.

It's this video that really haunted me. The guy is about to get a warning and let go, and he decides to attempt murder. It's a really telling video of the complete mental failure of African Americans.
