I think if more people participated in local governments it would help. Give your opinion to the city council in your local area. Write to the mayor and the governor. Pay attention to the issues and try to understand how it works. If you don't, you end up with people you did not vote for and people who don't know you exist or what you want.

Personally, I would like to see some care taken to include all people in a state. The rural and the urban need each other and must help each other. That would solve a lot of trouble right there.For Oregon and Washington for sure. These different parts of the state have different needs. Sure tax gas in the city but give people a break out in the rural areas, they have to drive longer to get anywhere and it is not like we don't need rural areas. We need people who have farms and ranches. They need to have a market to sell their goods.

I suppose in an ideal world we would live in small self-sufficient communities and not need to import a damn thing. But in the world we live in, it is a problem when farmers can't bring in migrant workers to harvest crops. It is a problem when a city has no milk.It is a problem when a farmer has so many expenses that are not their problem that it makes farming unsustainable.

This is why people have the desire to go back to the land and take care of themselves only and not rely on anyone. This is really hard to do and most will never be able to purchase land and make that happen. Maybe we can just be aware of mutual reliance and try and work together.

Sigh, I know this is absolutely impossible in the climate right now of having a president who only wants to be president of his people and not all the people.It puts everyone at a stress level of 1000% and feeling that they are unsafe. And they are. We are all unsafe until we stop it. No one else is going to stop it. Either half the population is murdered or everyone stops attacking each other and starts listening to each other and solving problems.

Fires are a problem. It needs to be figured out or those areas will be uninhabitable. It is clearly not working the way things are going. You can all blame each other or work together.
