E.M.P.....Earthquake, Meteor, Power out.

It's the Juan de Fuca part of the Ring of Fire that has been the most quiet for decades, centuries.

Although the Seattle area got hit with a semi-moderate EQ several years ago, the Northwest, including Vancouver down to Portland, has been largely quiet and tremor-free for a long time.

By contrast, the SoCal section has been hit by several big EQs over the past 50 years and NoCal got hit by, of course, the infamous huge quake of 1906 and the Loma Prieta quake in 1989.

It's the Northwest's turn.

Quakes don't kill that many so it leaves us with death by asternoid.

If it is an asteroid impact then they have it timed to the microsecond and know exactly where it will hit.

The military would already be on the move.

Panic sex would be rampant.

The dejavu on this one however, is creeping me out.

Actually, our current technology and knowledge don't allow that much pinpoint precision or predicting. I recall when one of the space station orbiters fell to Earth, NASA and others weren't sure exactly where it would hit.

If something clearly noticeable were out there ready to strike the planet, both inside and outside chatter would be through the roof.
