Where we grow trees because we have nothing else to do with our land. No lumber and what is there is 3 times the price it was last year.

Someone (TPTB) have bought up all the lumber to create the shortage and are paying companies to keep the lumber mills silent.

There is a BIG BIG BIG doom event on the horizon. Nuclear war or massive civil war that they've planned soon.

Lowe's did give employees a raise due to this COVID BS.
So I'd say it reflects that raise and a few pennies more.

It was actually redwood and I wanted to help a local in these dreary times. I have an old farmhouse built in the 60s, a cathedral ceiling made of redwood, couldn't build it today.

Fortunately I'm out in the sticks far enough that it will take a while to do that here. Just trying to build a smaller home, but trying to make the most of my money by doing it all myself. Foundation is done but will probably only go that far this year till we see what lumber market does

I’m a builder and it’s going to get worse. Riight now the shortages are mainly due to plants shutting down from Covid, but demand is going to surge from all the fires on the West Coast. 1000’s of homes were lost.

They did some shit in the 90's/00's that turned the Poconos area into Puerto Rico/Mexico.

Lumber prices supposedly fell alot the past week, down to 550 per 1000 feet. Lower prices may come but will the inventory be there?

I saw a contractor pulling out nails and saving lumber on a gut rehab job.....guess repurposed lumber will be a thing in the near future...
