JUST SAW - Fireball meteorite falling in The Netherlands

Was it about 1hour ago? My child asked me"mom, is there lightning outside, it just lit up out there"from its bedroom.as there's no clouds at all - maybe it was this? Which direction?

Was just before 9PM out time, so a little more then an hour ago.

Which direction was it going? NW to SE?

Have you witnessed bigger? I think that is one of the brightest and longest visible falling star I’ve ever personally seen.

Anyway, it was pretty wild.

The camera was pointed SW. So South to south west ID say.

By the way, later when I filmed the ISS passing over, another interesting thing... see around 3:40 in this video [link to youtu.be (secure)] and look to the right, that fainter object TAILING the International Space Station !!! What a night!

I saw one with craters bounce off the magnetosphere in 1998 in Austin Tx had it not bounced Texas would be gone

Very cool OP! I have been watching the night sky alot lately, many cool things to see with it so clear.

Neat.

Saw one big one burn up right above me ONCE ... and it lit everything up like it was mid day. Lasted about 10 - 15 seconds.

Recently I have become interested in "Catastrophe Theory" wrt Meteors hitting the earth. It appears that they hit much more often than most scientists have previously recognized, maybe one decent size hit about every 1000 years.

Good link below to "GeoCosmic Rex" on YouTube. This is a series of 81 videos (a multi year workshop he did), but he also has other series of lectures that have more, or less, videos than this 81 video lecture series which was filmed 2006 to 2008.

I would highly recommend if you are at all interested in this area of astronomy /geology you at least watch the first few lectures of this series. GREAT INFORMATION!!
