This isn't a trial so there isn't any verdict coming down. I disagree that she was killed in self defense. They didn't have to go in with guns blazing to search her house. They had been there before and could have easily stopped her, alone, anywhere, any time, and told they had a warrant to search her place and it could have been done without any fanfare or violence. They paid out that huge settlement for a reason.

I'm really disappointed that so many people engage in this black or white (borderline!) thinking of all cops bad or all cops good. It's not the truth. Sometimes they're good and sometimes they're psychopaths. We've sure had hundreds of threads, on GLP, over many years, about horrible murders by the police which they often get away with. Conservatives should never make excuses for this shit. And, that doesn't mean supporting the other side. It means to examine each incidence, without bias, and to tell the truth.

I hate these commie fucks and I hate abuses by the police. It's possible to hate both. Neither one has any place in a sane and free society.

A no-knock warrant is a search warrant authorizing police officers to enter certain premises without first knocking and announcing their presence or purpose prior to entering the premises. Such warrants are issued where an entry pursuant to the knock-and-announce rule (ie. an announcement prior to entry) would lead to the destruction of the objects for which the police are searching or would compromise the safety of the police or another individual.

Funny should bring up Waco because I was thinking about that and Ruby Ridge. The people here who support how the cops went in at Breonna's house probably supported the the psychopathic killers who attacked Randy Weaver and his family and the Branch Davidians.

There was a reaction to those events and it was the forming of militias all over. That got destroyed when the FBI and Southern Poverty Law Center bombed the Murrah Bldg in Oklahoma City and blamed it on the militia movement.

Except in the case of a hostage, there is no place in a civilized society for no knock raids or even SWAT raids. It just shouldn't happen.

I believe they said that but my point is that they didn't have to go that route at 1:30 AM. They know that and it's why the 25 million dollar settlement was paid out.

Damn right. There does seem to be conflicting information as to whether this was a no knock warrant, though. Either way, the way it was done was reckless and stupid and had now led to all of this uproar and 25 million paid out in sorry money.

What exactly was done wrong?.

The information was that they had a no-knock warrant for that house. The officers decided to knock twice and announced themselves.

The banged on the door and the boyfriend shot at them through the door. I’m guessing the boyfriend thought it was a rival gang or he didn’t care and open fired on the police.

The officers returned fire. The police were in the right in the incident.

You've been shown over and over that the police knocked on the door and announced they were serving a warrant. You ignore the fact that the cops were shot at first. AFTER they identified themselves.

People should just ignore this numbnut.
