I'm Having a Really Hard Time Finding Movies That are Actually Scary/Creepy.

not movies but check out the old time radio shows like Suspense on Youtube, there are other from the 70s that are mind f'ers.

Babadook is THE scariest movie out there, my BF and I could not even finish it, turned it off with 20 minutes remaining.

Here are a couple I highly doubt have been previously mentioned.

I picked a random movie to watch last night but I need to watch the ending again because I got sleepy from wine...

Hello, it’s called The Shining. It is easily the scariest movie of all time.

Yeah that one is on my "watch again" list but I have so many new ones to see now.

Pan's Labyrinth was pretty creepy

I have that movie in 3D.

Not really a big horror movie fan myself but I have one for you: Tesis (aka Thesis, Alejandro Amenábar, Spain, 1996) Not gory from what I recall, very psychological. I had feelings of paranoia on the long late-night walk home from a screening of it one time.

Thanks! I like older movies better than newer ones usually. I don't think a lot of what comes out these days is actually scary. Movies feel watered down to me. Designed to appeal to the most people so they make the most money.

So I decided to get one of the more difficult movies to watch out of the way and I watched A Serbian Film.

That was rough.

I wouldn't recommend that to most people.

People addicted to seeing murder, carnage and gore have issues. They need to witness blood spurting, throatslitting

It wasn't poorly written, it was just pushing the extremes farther than most would feel comfortable watching. Martyrs was like that too but not quite so bad. The scariest stories for me are the ones that could actually happen. Real snuff films are out there and I wouldn't watch one of those. I could process that movie because I knew it was fiction.

I said earlier that I'm not into gore, I prefer movies that make you think. Psychological thrillers.

Other than not understanding it, did you find it scary or creepy?

Best I can remember the plot "spoiler alert"




is that this demon has to inhabit a person and was in his grandmother until she dies, the daughter was the next chosen vessel but she died in the car accident, so they choose him instead.

I really shouldn't watch certain movies while drinking wine... You really had to pay attention for that one.

Hagazussa was pretty disturbing. I might watch The Conjuring or The Witch tonight.

Vivarium creeped me the fuck out.
