User ID: 77491669 United States 09/22/2020 07:54 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | “We may be in for a very apocalyptic fall, I’m sorry to say,” Peter Hotez, the co-director of the Texas Children’s Hospital Center for Vaccine Development said. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 29910105 “It's happening because we're forcing schools to reopen in areas of high transmission. We're forcing colleges to reopen, and we don't have the leadership nationally, telling people to wear masks and to social distance and do all the things we need to do. We still have that disinformation campaign coming out of the White House and it’s literally killing Americans,” Hotez said. Hotez noted that the U.S. recorded more than 66,000 new cases a day over the summer at the end of July and the beginning of August. He said cases began to fall as people “finally” started getting the message about masks and other health measures, but daily new infections are now creeping up to the 40,000 mark as fall approaches. Jeanne Marrazzo, the director of the Division of Infectious Diseases at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, agreed with Hotez’s estimation that the coming months “could be apocalyptic.” Marazzo said there are several reasons why the U.S. is experiencing a rise in new infections. “One is that there is general fatigue. People are really tired of this,” she said. “And then the second thing is ... the completely contradictory messages that we're getting — not just the misinformation, but also the confusion about how things are spread." Center for Disease Control and Prevention Director Robert Redfield in August said the country could be in for “the worst fall, from a public health perspective, we’ve ever had,” as the likelihood of a possible “twindemic” of the coronavirus and seasonal flu could overwhelm hospitals and drain resources, threatening lives and the response to the pandemic. Anonymous Coward User ID: 77192746 United States 09/22/2020 08:56 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | This peaked in Spring (as far as the deadliness of it). Doctors have learned new strategies to prevent severe outcomes for those who are hospitalized. This spreads rapidly, and did just that early in the pandemic. Many got mildly ill and never were counted in the stats. This never was that big a deal for most people, and the worst of this virus has passed. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 79337916 United States 09/22/2020 08:57 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | if this story had any merit to it. the words "could be" and "may" would not appear in it. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 71895654 if they knew what they were talking about they wouldn't be unsure. It's kind of hard to fake a pandemic and cull millions globally if you talk to people who understand the subject and tell the truth. Way easier to find useful idiots and then use the news media to shut down intelligent, honest people with nothing to gain from their statements. |

[link to covid19.pinellascounty.org (secure)] And one of those deaths was a 87 year old man with heart disease and a failing liver who tested positive for COVID after he was already in ICU for his other health problems. The further a society drifts from the truth, the more it will hate those that speak it - Orwell If you’re backed by Hollywood, social media, the government, and practically the entire globalist system, you are not the resistance -- you're part of the problem |

So if this was a real deadly and contagious virus, A) At the very least VIPs would be wearing them instead of useless cloth masks and B) 9 months in every American would have a box of N95s. This is the “tell” that this is a hoax. FOOLIO |

User ID: 78629642 Canada 09/22/2020 09:53 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The dire prognostications issued by the Imperial College in the UK didn’t come to pass, so why would anything change just because a second wave is predicted? Case numbers are going up because more people are getting tested, but deaths are not. And if you’re not 70 years of age or older, don’t have any severe comorbidities, your chances of dying or even getting seriously ill are quite small. Masks or no masks, lockdowns or not, this is how things will go. |
