US Army Journal Calls for Return of US Bases in Taiwan

Taiwan was the best duty for a serviceman during the 60's and 70's. The locals all loved us. Good friend of mine married a Taiwanese girl. He was 6'10" and she was about 4'10'. Still married 40 years later. We should never have left. I think it was a President Carter move. Reunite China with the capitol Taipei.

Rather than spend the next thousand years paying for servicemen to do nothing. And wasting precious taxpayer money.

For us to be putting soldiers there we need an alliance with Japan and India and Australia and Taiwan to be a part of it.

And Canada better get its shit together too and join in.

That would be the best gift to our service men.

It does sound like a good idea to me. That might be about the only thing that would permanently deter China from launching a military action against Taiwan in the near future. Taiwan would also likely welcome the direct help and even end up paying for the cost of most of our presence (if done under the Trump administration). It might be one of the only moves left that could prevent a new war in the somewhat near future.

Things between India and China still seem to be heating up, so anything done now to cool down the antagonism from China (or increase the risk to China for acting out) might be a good thing. I'm just a keyboard warrior though, I'm sure there are others that know a lot more about what's going on over there than I do.
