Slightly different time of day, and it's for 5 years in the future. I haven't run the calculations out that long but I do know that depending on exactly how close it gets on this year's close approach it will have dramatic effects on the orbit in the future. In other words, the region of uncertainty will spread out. My guess is that the region becomes so complex that it contacted Earth at two slightly different points during that day and the computer dutifully noted it as two different impact possibilities. Region of Uncertainty. That sounds like a great name for a rock band for our time. I’m just amazed at the wild variation in all the solution calculations for some of the other items listed. Too many sigmas everywhere. Goodhunting. Btw if you get set up, are you going to do VP1 too? Not really practical to see it before closest approach.  |
