Unfortunately you have to be extremely Machiavellian in Corporate America, so go full bore. Sometimes you have to treat the monkeys in front of you like stair steps. No room for emotion.

Weigh it out from every option you can think of, and pick the most devious and simple plan that puts this incompetent fuck on the street, or pack your shit.

This is the only part I can focus on. Does he sniff his hand after he's touched himself? Just wondering what kind of guy you're dealing with here.

Just help him. Show him how to fix the data, don’t do it for him. Maybe “train” him how to make the dilutions, etc. Start looking for another job and don’t compromise your integrity by forging data!

Wow, thanks for all the advice. As it turns out, I got busy with something else Friday and was not able to help much. The bosses are really on his case because he hasn't gotten this done. I kinda feel sorry for him and won't want to be in his shoes. I helped him a little in the afternoon.

I don't know if they are going to accept the data we piecemealed together to make it work.

I spoke with my boss. I have decided that perhaps I confused leadership with expertise. I have the expertise. I decided to step back to see if the "leader" can step up.

He is scheduled to go to another area this week doing something even more complicated but he won't be the team leader. I can't wait to watch that show!
