The defense budget of Azerbaijan for 2011 was set at US$3.1 billion.[160] In addition to that, $1.36 billion was planned to be used for the needs of the defense industry, which bring up the total military budget to 4.6 billion.[160][161] Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said on 26 June 2011 that the defence spending reached $3.3 billion that year.[162]

Azerbaijan's defense budget for 2013 is $3.7 billion.[163][164]

Azerbaijani defense industry manufactures small arms, artillery systems, tanks, armors and noctovision devices, aviation bombs, pilotless vehicles, various military vehicles and military planes and helicopters.[165][166][167][168]
