Apparently the S-500s can hit a target almost 300 miles (482 km) away (range of 600 km for anti-ballistic missile & ABM) and 500 km for the air defence. Can also detect and simultaneously engage up to 10 ballistic hypersonic targets flying at a speed of 5km per second. Unsurprisingly, Turkey has expressed interest in buying these from Russia, but what happens with Armenia-Azerbaijan might determine whether Putin gives them or not (he might decide they're better off in Armenia's hands!) They aren't going to waste the use of an S-500 or an S-400 when an S-300 or a Buk or pretty much anything the Soviet Union had can wipe out an old F-16. It would be like hitting a fly with a very expensive sledgehammer. Ultra-strong Radio-electronic warfare makes any air defense system obsolete.
