I get what you are saying, but, ironically, what you are quoting is the constitution. The phrase, "We the People" is never defined, and it is a group that is giving commands to the federal government.

It is not all the people of the United States, as there are some that are incapable of giving commands (children, mentally challenged / infirm, aged). It is also not all the capable people as many of them (from historical evidence) did not agree with a limited Federal government.

Those left to occupy the seat of, "We the People" were and are an incredibly small group that is:

a) aware of their place to command the Federal government and anything else for that matter, except for another member of "We the People".

b) living with full intention and awareness in every aspect of life (again, not a child, mentally handicapped / infirm, senile, etc).

c) standing apart and (by right of creation) above all things except for the creator.

d) only able to maintain and obtain by standing in the way and word of said creator.

Ironically the group is minuscule. But, (agreeing with you here) the Them vs Us mentality is only among those that are not of the We.
