Working after retiring
I'm getting ready to retire and I will have a decent pension and benefit package. I'm retiring early because work has slow down so much.

I'm 56 and healthy with many years left in me. Got an associates degree in electronics in 1987 and have been working on elevators since then.

Any part time jobs for me out there?

They say you're ready for a heart attack you know.
Don't try stuff you're not ready for.

Work your way up to it.

Just find something new that you'd like.

Re: Working after retiring
I use to fix arcade games in the 80's. I wonder if that is even a market anymore. I loved working on the stuff, but working on elevators payed more.

I'd say you're going to struggle just fixing elevators these days.

Man those arcade games were cool back then, weren't they. Great times.

There are retro style emulators that are popular man cave and coffee break room things that have been popular lately. Find someone who's been building those and join them. Just dont break your back loading them onto the shipping trucks.

Get into the hobby of metal detecting. Lots of fun and there are ways to make money, such as joining TheRingFinders directory. If you get real good at it and leave near a popular beach, you can haul in 20-30k in gold, platinum and palladium jewelry in a few short months time.

Separate those last two sentences more sorry. One is a hobbyists directory where you can charge an hourly rate to find people's lost items. The other suggestion is to hit the beaches hard during the busy seasons. Find those low spots on the beaches at low tides and dig all your tones.

Re: Working after retiring
I think I found my perfect job.

Working as a gaming tech at a casino. In Kentucky. It would be like working at Show Biz Pizza place or Chucky Cheeses pizza place with all the games, but instead of little brats, I would be dealing with old grumpy people.
