I get called on it sometimes. When asked, I tell them:

* I don't have Covid
* Asymptomatic Transmission is a Unicorn
* I'm not at risk and not afraid to get it i.e. will take my chances

sometimes I throw in:

* Mask Mandates are non-scientific tyranny

Define pandemic.

In terms of percentage of population dead.

Fatality rate from Spanish Flu - 2%

Fatality rate in my county just 90 minutes east of NY City, the so-called epicenter?

.00013%

Sound like a pandemic??

Do it in your county. Divide the number of reported CV deaths by the last population count. See what ya get.

Re: My Mask Story...and Yours Too!
A couple of months ago the grocery store had a table at the entrance handing out masks. We hadn't bought any of the "statement" ones that everybody else had yet. At some point, the store was still offering them, but at the service desk instead of at the front door.

I don't always go to the store with my husband, sometimes I just let him take the kids so I can enjoy a few minutes of silence. I assumed he had been getting a mask for him and the kids at the store. One day, I decided to go with him and realized that he hadn't been wearing a mask at all. I told him I didn't want us to be the only douchebags not wearing a mask. Recently I've seen a few people not wearing them though.

I seem to alternate between believing it's all a hoax and then freaking out in my head about the possibility that it's not. I just can't make up my mind, lol.

Re: My Mask Story...and Yours Too!
I don't wear a mask at all anywhere anytime.

I found that the people in my area are forced to deal with my face shield and they keep their mouths shut now.

When I'm at work, I wear it but it's on a swivel so it is up over my head for 90-95% of my shift. I just flip it down for the customers that pop in and flip it back up when they leave. We aren't terribly busy.

I carry it to the grocery store in my grocery bag and I put it on just for the time that I'm in the store. Maybe 10 minutes.

No gross useless face mask for me.

I think people can sense that if they give me any shit about my face shield that I'm going to go ballistic on them. It also helps that I'm 260 pounds.

 Quoting: Hot Dog Harry

A face shield is a "face-covering"-- while not quite as hideous--it's still gross and dehumanizing.
 Quoting: sseess

They will not serve you in the stores in my town and I can't just walk out with their merchandise.

It's a $2,000 fine for businesses if you don't comply. The bar nearby already got hit with a fine.

Where I live, I'm outnumbered 99 to 1 when it comes to my feelings on this situation so I can't just "not do it".

This system of mine keeps my face free for almost all of my day. For a small part of my day I have to look through some plastic.

Ok, so, not arguing with you at all, because it does sound stupid. I'm pretty sure that only an N95 mask would matter. So wtf is the point in wearing the mask, right? But what if the mask does prevent the spread? There ya go....I wear a mask because I simply don't know the actual numbers. The particle size of covid easily passes through a regular mask, correct?

Re: My Mask Story...and Yours Too!
I'd like to share my recent mask story, and I invite you to reply with a story if you wish.

I just returned to Florida from a recent trip to northern Michigan. I was there for a week and was shocked at the extreme mask wearing protocol and how willing the people were to follow it.

In Florida, we have not worn masks outside. Some people do, but they seem scared or just dumb. Although Florida stores such as the famous PUBLIX grocery market requires a mask, but I've been using a fishing tube mask that is easy to breath through, and I can pull it down around my neck. My mask provides absolutely no protection to me or nor anyone else, and I don't care, because I think COVID is a scam.

That said, my adventure to Michigan started from the Tampa International Airport, and my first time flying in the age of COVID. I expected the mask requirement, but was surprised to find the majority of businesses in the airport closed, with only a very few newsstands and a place to eat, maybe get a beer if you are lucky. Of course, being at an airport dining place you can take your mask off to eat...how nice.

On the airplane (I flew United because it was cheap, and it felt cheap) it smelled powerfully of Lysol, and there was even clouds of this "Lysol" gas thaat would poor into the cabin from the upper air system. It was weird. But I wore my fishing tube mask the entire time, and never covered my nose unless requested "ordered" to. I had one brief flight change at O'hare, a giant beast of an airport. Because O'hare is so international in nature, I got a glimpse of worldly travelers moving about, face masked and sometimes with a full plastic face shied too.

It was like a creepy Sci-Fi movie, because the airport was busy, and everyone is masked up. Both of my flights were packed without a single seat available. And it was made clear many times that we had to keep our masks on during flight. Then they served drinks and crackers, and all the passengers were now "allowed" to take our masks off, to eat and drink. And being that the drinks and chips phase of the flight lasts about an hour; I can't explain how crazy these mask rules are. It's ridiculous.

In Traverse City, the citizens are basically zombies to the draconian mask laws being forced upon the citizens by a witch State Governor named Gretta. Everyone wears masks outside! It's fucking crazy. I simply refused to wear a mask outdoors, while walking down a city street shopping area. When I would enter a store, I wore my mask as usual below my nose, and in Michigan I actually had numerous store employees tell me that I had to get my mask over my nose. So, in my passive-aggressive way, I'll be obedient to the order for a moment, and pull my mask below my nose whenever I can. It's just so inane that my mask is acceptable, if worn properly, even though my whiskers from an unshaved face poke right through the fine material, which is designed to protect the head and face from the Sun, and maybe some blowing sand, and that's about it.

However, there was one glimmer of hope. A small locally owned grocery store had a cardboard box with a sign that said FREE MASKS. I looked into the box, and to my great surprise found a box full of free masks, so I took one as a souvenier from my trip. The masks were nothing more that a Public Restroom style paper towel, with a rubber band stapled onto each side. I thought it was great, although I'm sure the subtle humor flew right over the heads of 99% of the poor souls in northern Michigan. I took a photo of the box of FREE MASKS.

If you have a story worth telling, about the fun with masks you are having, share it here. Now I understand, how much different the mask situation can be depending upon which state you are in, and what type of community mindset exists in that particular location.

Masks are designed to stop particles 700 nanometers or larger. Virus is 10-70 nanometers. It dosen't stop any one from giving or getting a virus. It's just TPTB testing us to see how stupid we are. If the TV told people that they should always hop on one foot, you would see 80% of the population at Walmart hopping around on one foot.

We are fucking doomed if people are too lazy to just google something and find out if they are being fooled or not!

You are a MASK-TARD which also rhymes with MUSTARD.

Wearing masks is not an act of politics nor is it part of any pre-existing political ideologies.

It is simply an added measure to help save you and your fellow human beings from getting sick and spreading Covid-19.

It isn't about politics, it is about your health.

You drank the Kool-Aid.

98% of the types of masks on the market will not prevent you from getting COVID-19, let alone the flu, a cold, or some other infection.

Watch the demonstrations of how ordinary smoke, which has larger particles than COVID-19, a cold, and the flu, easily passes through the masks.

You are fooling yourself to believe it helps. Perhaps it’s a security blanket you enjoy.

Re: My Mask Story...and Yours Too!
I tried to wear the masks, but within minutes I can’t breath. I have severe bronchitis. Twice I had to go to the ER, chest X-rays and breathing treatments and other medications. My doctor says stay home as much as possible. Now my insurance changed in a July... $2500 co-pay for any services that don’t lead to admission. Twice they wanted to hospitalize but my doctor said I am greater risk being exposed.

It’s no fun. Where ever I go I call ahead for accommodations... people bring things out to me now. My world sucks and I feel so entitled just sitting in my car letting others do the work. I’m stuck for now, but people need to know how deadly they can be.

I wonder if they knew that and that is the reason why the mask are mandatory, how many people are sick from the masks and think it’s flu?

I also didn’t like the fact that all that sanitizer killed a lot of our normal flora and fauna germs. Bleach kills everything and that is the recommendation to clean everything with bleach... what are we doing? I fear for the coming flu season, not from COVID but from colds and flu’s made worse from the cleansing of our defenses since this all began.

Please sign the petition I just put up on the White House web site. The petition asks that a double-blind study be done to PROVE that masks work. My guess: Masks will be proven to NOT control the spread of coronavirus.

Re: My Mask Story...and Yours Too!
I was at a Wal-mart about three days ago, and I had to ask the pharmacist a question about a medication before I continue my shopping. This lady with her nasty chihuahua dog was sitting on the bench next to the window an told me that I needed to wear a mask if I was even thinking about sitting on the bench with her. I ignored her and just stood leaning up against the blood pressure machine. The pharmacist came out and asked her to take her mask off so she could take a look at whatever she was complaining about in her mouth. She place her mask next to her on the bench. I then saw that little chihuahua rub it's ass all over the mask and kept scratching. It literally left a skid mark on her mask and kept scratching. The pharmacist finished, walked to the back and I watched her pick that mask back up, place it on her face...and I didn't say one goddamn thing about it.

Still not sure if that was the right call, but something inside keeps me smirking about it.

If the company I am at refuses to serve me and I am the one paying them to exist, I refuse. I will never bend the knee. It is as simple as going somewhere else or paying some other schmuck to go into that store with a mask for me.

If I am doing business with a company who is paying ME and they PROVIDE the required ineffective PPE, then I will comply simply to get paid. I purposefully walk into buildings that have mask signs without my mask just to see how employees treat me. MOST people, I travel constantly, do not care about the masks, but fear losing their jobs. So, most employees have zero desire to confront people constantly about masks. You can use this to your advantage by walking with a purpose and NOT smiling at people until you are sure they have no prideful intent on picking a fight. If you are greeted at a place when you walk in, but nothing is said about a mask then take it as a sign you are ok. Be kind to people if possible as there is no reason to fight with the like minded.

Very few times in the months since this nonsense has been happening have I been stopped by an actual terrified idiot who thought it was a good idea to confront me about the terry cloths they thought would protect them from the world....

There are specific places in this country where you can go to avoid any mandates and stupid people.
For the most part, quite simply, go to the smaller areas with the least amount of females and you should be fine.

As with most rebellions that spread across a nation....they begin with getting the emotions of the females riled up and they end when powerful men start losing money or God gets tired of it.

Covid scare is no different.

Re: My Mask Story...and Yours Too!
Masks are mass conditioning for vaccines and digital vaccine certificates, aka the mark of the beast.

I have not worn one yet and never will. Nor will I get vaccinated or accept Bill Gate's mark of the beast.

I never wear one, the exception was 3 weeks ago when I had to go to the hospital to get a piece of steel removed from my eye. ( work accident).

It always starts out with the "exception".

Then it happens again because it felt awkward when

somebody asked or told you.

You are losing a battle.

You will comply.

Re: My Mask Story...and Yours Too!
By and large I don't wear a mask. Only time I do is in respect for the store/business owner [only small local stores] since I don't want them fined or going out biz for not being in compliance. I'm fortunate to live in a state that has spotty mask requirements. In my county the Sheriff has flat out said won't enforce any mask laws. So, despite the fact Walmart, Home Depot and the like have a mask mandate, hardly anyone is wearing on and the store is not enforcing it because who ya going to call. LOL It's kind of like everybody is going through the motions and pretending to be CoVid Correct, but no one is really following it or enforcing it. As the number of cases keep going down in our area, I think everyone is pretty much done with this nonsense. If people want to wear masks, up to them, but haven't run into anyone that tries to shame me for not wearing one.

Re: My Mask Story...and Yours Too!
I always wear one, although my aunt Karen thinks it’s stupid. I do it for my sister Karen who gets mad if I don’t.

I take it off occasionally to shake out the boogers.pick

Re: My Mask Story...and Yours Too!
Work requires me to wear one. Our customers don't have to though. I usually have my work one in my pocket, so I'll throw it on if I go somewhere, except Walmart. I refuse to wear it in there

I live in michigan and spend half the summer up where OP says they were. Nobody wears their masks outside unless they're going into the store. We don't wear masks outide.

Re: My Mask Story...and Yours Too!
Im in south florida and publix still requires face masks as does every store near me....Not being able to see someones face has really altered my happiness. Looking at peoples face is a form of non-verbal communication. Watching how they express themselves and being able to read lips helps communication as well..... and seeing beautiful women is part of the beauty of life too. Its almost like there is no more color in the world. I fucking hate it. I hate my life right now. I hate this fucking world.

Re: My Mask Story...and Yours Too!
no mask ever
eastern CT
but once 3 months ago
i went to a liquor out here
friendly spirits - fuck that place
anyways

fucking Hillary was working
the store was empty
i strolled right in for some black bermuda rum

i was grabbing said bottle of rum

Hillary at the counter said

"you need a mask"
I lied and said I'm exempt, medical issue
she says"my husband has asthma and wears a mask"
at that point i was stunned at the sheer audacity of this cunt. so i drop the bottle on the floor, apologize for my clumsy nature and proceed to walk out the door.

i said
it is a free country
please act like it.

i also said in my exit
"you sell poison on every shelf and you are on me about a mask" well the stockboy laughed at that...no mask on him btw.

she was pissed, but i honestly dropped the bottle
because i was stunned at the stupidity of this 25 year long working at the liquor store cunt

thar's my story

I go into lowes, walmart, supermarket, farm store too with no mask

restaurants are open
but they make you wear a mask while walking to your table and if you gotta get up to piss

fuck that charade

i got one pizza joint i can walk right in and sit down and chill with Trump loving folks.

toss me out
i'm loud and ready to spit truth and facts
