Matthew 25:1-13 - New English Translation (2005)
1. "At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. 2. Five of the virgins were foolish, and five were wise. 3. When the foolish ones took their lamps, they did not take extra olive oil with them. 4. But the wise ones took flasks of olive oil with their lamps. 5. When the bridegroom was delayed a long time, they all became drowsy and fell asleep. 6. But at midnight there was a shout, 'Look, the bridegroom is here! Come out to meet him.' 7. Then all the virgins woke up and trimmed their lamps. 8. The foolish ones said to the wise, 'Give us some of your oil, because our lamps are going out.' 9. 'No,' they replied. 'There won't be enough for you and for us. Go instead to those who sell oil and buy some for yourselves.' 10. But while they had gone to buy it, the bridegroom arrived, and those who were ready went inside with him to the wedding banquet. Then the door was shut. 11. Later, the other virgins came too, saying, 'Lord, lord! Let us in!' 12. But he replied, 'I tell you the truth, I do not know you!' 13. Therefore stay alert, because you do not know the day or the hour.


2. Five of the virgins were foolish, and five were wise.

I used to think there was little hope for the foolish that got left behind

The wise ones are taken in Rev 3:10 not to heaven because the dead in Christ rise first in Matt 24:30 and in 1 Thes 4

15. For we tell you this by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will surely not go ahead of those who have fallen asleep. 16. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a shout of command, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.

The wise are those living that have the blessing given to miss the hour of testing

They have already said no to Satan and yes to Jesus

The foolish are allowed to see the anti-christ to have the honor to die in faith or stand in faith and be alive at the end of the 1260 days

You must stand in the deeds of walking in truth

Those of you that say you are a sinner and walk in your sins are blinded by false teaching of a fallen church walking in sin

They defend sin and teach you that sin is expected in your life - they stand against being born again into the light of this new life of what we are to be born into

5. Now this is the gospel message we have heard from him and announce to you: God is light, and in him there is no darkness at all. 6. If we say we have fellowship with him and yet keep on walking in the darkness, we are lying and not practicing the truth. 7. But if we walk in the light as he himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.
