The Next Time You See a Butterfly

My handle name and avatar represent something that has been viewed as quite powerful. Today, I'm just giving you something to think about. The butterfly may seem fragile in their physical form, but they hold a very deep depiction of life. They have this magical vibe about them. Personally, I have been attracted to butterflies all my life. I love anything that has to do with butterflies.

Did you know that many cultures hold the butterfly in high significance? For instance, in China, the butterfly symbolizes marital bliss and joy. The Christian religion views the butterfly as a sign of resurrection, new life, and the soul. In the Hopi tradition, to show their availability, unmarried girls wear their hair in the shape of butterfly wings. In the Native American tradition, the butterfly represents change, joy, and color.

Others see the butterfly as a sign of hope, endurance, and endless potential. They also associated with creativity and ideas. We bring forth both ideas and creativity. Those need to be shaped, formed and developed. This process takes time, much like it takes time for the caterpillar to transform into the butterfly. When we step back from the mind work, and let the process flow, this gives a foundation with which we can work with. The manifestation of those ideas and creations will then flourish and come forth.

So, when you see a butterfly, make a wish with your heartfelt intentions. You just may be surprised. My inspiration from butterflies has led me to the process of writing a book that's about my life, the ups and downs and the many changes I've gone through. And yes, the title has the word butterfly in it. (this isn't trying to sell it...it's not finished yet)
