What even Hunter himself is probably aware of is that should things ever seriously blow up in their faces, he is the sacrificial Judas goat that they will give up to the masses to be punished while the others walk away unscathed.

Thus, he's highly motivated to keep his baser instincts in check to some degree by the threat that if something ever goes really wrong it's his ass on the line.

To be fair, this was sent to me by my former fiance'....a very smart man. PhD. College professor at Purdue. A conservative who had trouble getting along with liberal professors. They just didn't believe in his philosophy...his beliefs. He was told to pass the athletes even if they didn't attend class, or those who failed his classes. He was so frustrated! He left. Successful author...IT publications and other geek stuff like ham radio. I can't keep up..lol.
