Need semi-auto 9mm handgun suggestions for daughter w/ small hands.

I purchased a Taurus TX22 on the advice of another poster here a few weeks back. It's only a .22 caliber but it comes with two 16 round magazines and my wife has no problems firing it.

No worries mate. One of the most common mistakes new shooters make is trying to handle a gun too big for them. My wife can't handle a .45 like I carry but she can shoot reliably accurate with a .22 and nobody likes getting shot in the face, no matter what caliber!

Myninstructer said sigs are very durable and he only got 12000 rounds put of it. He said his glock which he hated at first got over 200 000 rounds. Glock is cheqper but more durable?

Sigs aren't very durable i meant

I don't own a glock but I hear they can be prone to jam via several gun forums but some people love them and swear by them.

Come to think of it the same can be said for almost every gun on the market!

I (40 year old man) handled a few M&P's a couple of years ago at the army navy store and did not like the grip, too small for me. I actually like the "blocky" grips.

So maybe those will feel better in your daughter's hand.

Smith & Wesson M&P Shield EZ is a nice shooting gun as well. I’ve never personally liked S&W semi-autos, until I shot one. Priced reasonably as well. Might want to find a local range that rents guns (if they do that where you live), and take a few for a test-drive. More important than how a gun feels in the hand at the store, is how it feels when it’s shot.

I don’t have personal experience with the new EZ version of the Shield, but it seems like a good candidate. Another worth consideration is the Sig 239.

P938 was my first thought.

I swear by my Glock. It’s a gen2 and I’ve carried this baby for almost 20 years. Never failed to feed or fire. Never jammed. Revolver before that.

Love these suggestions. Some of y’all are mentioning a Sig. lol I had a premonition that she’d hold a Sig and be like “Oh hellz yes!” (Or maybe a Berretta).

I love SigSauer too. I just carry a Glock b/c it’s a pound lighter, parts are everywhere and it’s always with me so I’ll subtract that extra pound :-)

Me personally, I’d be all over the Gen4 G19. I’m not a big dude, I’m slight of build and only 5’7” (I shrank an inch, no joking - but I’m an older dude). Point being, I need something on the smaller side that I can conceal.

Try a Ruger EC-9s, I think that you will like it, and it's under $250 dollar price tag.

Beautiful! Someone gave me that advice last night but I didn’t want to totally hijack that thread. I’ve called the closest indoor range but I can’t get a straight answer on what’s for rent “Oh, some pistols and rifles.”

I’ll call tomorrow and see if I can talk to someone different. We definitely need to check what they have before setting out on a field trip :-)
