What's the new normal ado with the economy?
Since a week and a half ago, the Casey's convenience store across the street from my work is no longer open on third shift. They have signs posted that masks are recommended - one of the few exceptions I've seen. Almost all other retailers have signs posted that they are required per the governor's executive order.

I would chat with one of the managers frequently when stopping in on my lunch break. Bottom line is they have not enough applicants to fill the needed positions to staff the hours between 10 PM to 6 AM.

It is not a financial issue whatsoever, as it has proven since they re-opened that running a 24/7 operation still remains profitable across all shifts.

Where I work, there are currently four different people that have been in and out of work since we reopened in May. They come in, work for a week or two, and then have some sort of answer to screening questions ado with symptoms or close contact with someone that does, and then they stay at home for 10 to 21 days.

Government mandates have made it so that employees not showing up to work because of quarantine or self-isolation protocols cannot be disciplined for attendance or found to be in violation of company policies ado with attendance if their absence is covid related.

Meanwhile, myself and others who actually want to show up to work to work rather than attend with minimal effort for a paycheck are being physically taxed to keep up production.

It seems to me, thus far from my own personal observations in my own environment not viewed through a screen, that the new normal is for lazy, entitled, worthless shits with no work ethic to have an excuse to not work and still have health insurance paid by their employer and access to public assistance to pay their bills.

It seems to me, as I've suspected since around seven or so years ago, that the next big bubble to pop in a pre-planned way is going to be one ado with health care and not student loans.

It seems to me that the hard-working, productive sector of the economy that produces essential goods and pays a lion's share of the taxes are going to foot the bill for the lazy, entitled, worthless shits to an even greater degree.
