This is interesting but the US mint does sell an uncirculated coin IN A BOX with a COA (every year), considerably more than a bullion uncirculated coin. My guess is this is for THE BOXED uncirculated coins and not the standard bullion silver that comes in tubes of 20 eagles.

Why is the box with the COA worth more, maybe FOTL or people are just willing to pay $30 extra for a box with COA.

The article does not clarify if it's for the packaged eagles or the standard bullion sliver eagle.

Either way there is an increase from both BOXED/COA uncirculated/proof coins from previous years.

Edit: we the public can not buy standard bullion eagles from the us mint, I believe there are only 11 dealers in our country that can direct buy bullion from the us mint, and then we as a public buy from them.

The article didnt clarify if it's for the shitty box one or bullion silver.. my guess it's for the boxed coins with a coa like they sell every year way more than a standard bullion eagle. (Which you can't buy from the mint)

You can buy a Silver Eagle for under $30 today.

Silver jumped way up recently but has been falling back since.

I think previous years they were like $64.95, which would reflect the cost on silver spot raise to this year.



Edit: Also proof coins are not "graded as the best coins", it's a different die that strikes the coins and unlike the 40,000,000 uncirculated bullion coins there may only be like 5 million proof coins or even less, the 1996 proof eagle is worth like $3000 cause they only made about 30,000 of them....


That being said, we may ride, or not, I believe the article is talking about the BOXED uncirculated coin with a COA and not your standard bullion coin, cause we as the public can not buy standard bullion from the mint. There are only like 12 dealers in the USA that can buy bullion direct from the mint.

You can't buy bullion direct from the mint, well the general public can't, they are talking about the uncirculated silver eagle that the US mint sells with a box and COA, and they always have a premium over standard bullion.

Silver is $24 an oz today. HEH no one is gonna get 50 - 60 dollars an ounce from anyone.

Yes, Silver spot is well below what is being charged here for proofs , but it will reflect , very soon I'd imagine, in the bullion coins...
