I like wearing a full-face MotoCross mask.
It's got big goggles and full face coverage that will completely defeat any A.I. face recognition system.

Masks ONLY work if they're silicone/rubber sealed and N95 or higher rating. (Apparently, HEPA 13 or 14 too). In other words - a respirator!

My State, New Mexico, is into a second spike of COVID. I rarely see anyone without a mask on, at least in any buildings. Who knows when we'll be back on lockdown....but still I'll work.

Thank gawd the shields are acceptable, or I wouldn't be working.

I did have a client give me grief about the shield, her saying how they can't possibly be affective....heh, talk to me like that, in that tone?

I quickly and curtly told her it's acceptable, and that I'm not sick, at all. I told her that she had a mask on....so protected from my bad air. I told her that if I weren't required to wear a mask to keep my job, that I would not be wearing one....because I take care of my health with supplements and cleanliness. I asked her if she understood what I said.

Heh, she peeped out a yes, straightened up and became nicer.

I do not back down to bully-type people.....heh, save for my mom, I found out the other day when she totally busted her gut on how Trump has to be removed from office....my gawd, she knocked me off balance with her over the top anger.... I did not say a word. With anyone else, I most assuredly would've.

Well, I already had the virus, but that doesn't seem to matter, stores and the gym here still require masks.

I guess logic is out the window with these people.

I've had several conflicts due to not wearing a mask. The ones i list here dont include sneers, people doing whatever is necessary to avoid crossing paths, Karens talking shit, etc.

1. Goodwill, May - Had a surgical mask on my chin. Teenage female employee approaches and asks me to put it on. I oblige. She leaves and I pull mask down so that its sitting on the end of my nose. She comes back and I tell her that I cant pull it all the way up due to having asthma and that Im exempt from even having to wear one. I also offer to leave the storr if it is going to be a problem because I am not putring it on all the way. She turns around and motions for some guy. He comes up, raises his voice and tells me I need to leave. I explain that i just offered to leave without any conflict. He then flashes a cute littlw badge and tells me again that i need to leave. As Im walking out, I explain again that i offered to leave with no problem and he continues to berate me in front of a store full of people, so I get pissed and start talking shit and continuing to explain that this could have been avoided. By the time we get out the doors, i am calling him a pussy and shit because he is being rude and not acknowlesging what im saying. He 86s me from all Goodwills nationwide, for life and I wish him good luck on enforcing that, especially since I am not signing anything. He calls the police because "I refuse to leave the store." This has all happened in 3 minutes or less and we are outside. I let him call and have the call go through and i take off.

Taco Bell, July - Waited 20 minutes to order at the walk up window. Finally get up to order, wearing my buff (face cover) and as Im ordering the stupid thing slipped off my nose. I quickly fixed it, but the cashier (young 20s urban male) refuses to serve me because i touched my mask. Says he shouldnt have even started serving me because Im not wearing a mask (its a face cover from a company that specializes in head coverings).

Kroger, October - Forgot my masks at home and was out for the evening. Walk into store and they have 80+ year old man confronting mask non-compliers. He attempts to get my attention and i hurry past while he continues calling for me. About 30 seconds later, he cut me off and was trying to hand me a mask because rules and stuff. His hand was shaking and he was nervous. I felt really bad for him, so i took the mask but i got really angry. Like the angriest ive ever been because they got an at-risk old man doing this instead of a teen and he has to risk his safety confronting men about this shit in a city (portland) with a massive homeless problem

Train, September - Get on semi-crowded evening train and as soon as i sit down, a young 16-24 female asks if i will put on a mask. I tell her "no, im retarded. I cant wear things on my face. I wont be uncomfortable so you can feel safe", so she asks if i mind if she uses hand sanitizer. I tell her no and she draws her hand sanny and starts spraying me with it. Two other females sitting nearby started chewing hwr up pretty good. I wish i could have thanked them.

Bottle Drop, June - Waiting in line at the bottle redemption center, distancing, but not wearing masks (its like 100 degrees). Some jerk pulls up in his truck, gets out and starts yelling at the three of us. We are all early 30s, around 200 pounds and will stand up for ourselves, so not the best crowd to start talking shit to and belittle. He isnt wearing a mask and we tell him to step or step back. He busts his cell phone out and starts takimg pictures and talking about authorities, yadda yadda. We had to intimidate him to get him to leave and the guy that works there says he has been there every day, maskless, doing the same thing. lol


People have gone mad. Nobody knows about to or has seen The Highwire or the shit we aee around here. The social media algos make sure that if they get to see something, it is gonna take em off trail. Its sad.

This is simple. If you can walk past anyone or anything and "smell" an odour (perfume, baking, etc.) While our mask is on you have proved the mask is useless. Virus particulate are hundreds of time smaller than the molecules of vapour you are smelling and the mask will not stop transfer in or out. It will however keep recycling any bacteria you have aquired back into your system making the chances of getting sick actually even greater.

I wear my mask below my nose. Some mask nazis get upset and ask me to raise the mask here in Buenos Aires ( some stores)

nobody in the streets .

I very rarely put one on. I get some looks but no one has said anything.

It is not really being enforced where I live but it seems to me that in stores, I see more people wearing them now than when Gov Cooper first mandated mask for the entire state.



Edited to add: I just made a couple of phone calls to stores that have mask policies to ask if they had provisions for people with medical exemptions. I said something to the effect of "wanting to be sure that I am welcome to shop in your store" both told me that if I don't have on a mask, no one will come up to me about it.

I suggest doing that, getting people on record before you even go in.

Yikes! That's an awful reading, lawdy. You need to get a face shield, right away.....unless, I suppose if you have some kind of health condition....but the shield's studies have proven they're quite effective. I think it was 92% at 6 ft and 96% at 1.5 feet....hmmm, or the opposite, it's been awhile since I saw those figures, but that's pretty good stats. I work and can't wear a mask for more than 10 mins and I feel it. I get lightheaded, and I drive for a living, so no bueno.


I was at the doc's this morning and my oxygen was a 97, and I had the shield on....so yeah, look into getting a face shield for yourself. 79 is not a good number. You must've been a bit lightheaded I would think.

I get stares but no one has said anything to me, yet

I guess if you look like a person people shouldn't face with his helps?

And if someone says something to you just ignore them

This sums up my experience, except the 100+ degree temps in Utah are dry, so it's not so sticky.

I was born a premmie so have some minor lung issues. Wearing a mask for long periods of time causes me to congest quicker than usual. So I just remove it and let the chips fall where they may.

I do try to stay away from others to protect their fragile psyche when without my mask.

Oh just wear a fucking mask. J sus. If nurses and doctors cxan spoend 8 hours in one, you can manage it for ten minutes when you pop to the bodega for your smokes.

Been wearing a mask since April. Ya’ll just a bunch of cry babies.

When I worked in nursing homes pre-covid, those paper masks were only deemed helpful for 10 minutes, then you were to get a fresh one. Your masks are so damn filthy after 30 minutes in a store. Into the purse/pocket it goes and we take it out at the next stop and we stick it right back over our face.
