Been stockpiling now since the beginning of the year. Watching expiration dates and rotating my stock.

Did my final run today. Good for 4-6 months. Total cost was about $1k for four people.

100+ lbs of various dried beans (lentils, chickpeas, pinto, black beans, yellow and green split peas, etc)
150lbs of whole wheat flour
50lbs Thai Jasmine Rice
A metric ton of canned goods, tomatoes, pumpkin, pesto, sauerkraut, kalamata olives, banana peppers, fire roasted peppers, etc.
50lbs Amish popping corn
12 containers Bragg nutritional yeast
30lbs Farro
30lbs quinoa
25lbs tri color couscous
24 boxes of pastas
And plenty more food where that came from

Created a two year supply of household goods, including toothbrushes, toothpaste, bar soap, peroxide, various batteries, 48 72 hour candles, tarps, and a ton more shit the house always needs

I’ve been doing a lot of canning and dehydrating of fresh goods too. I have pounds of fresh cranberries going right now through the dehydrator.

I make all of my own pasta sauce from scratch, and either can it or freeze it.

Already have more than enough basic survival gear on hand to hole up for a long time.

Got 36 extra pairs of socks, and underwear, a few sleeping bags, and have hand made plenty of thick wool blankets to go with the thermal sets I have.

The key to my preps was to hold over for extended times while adapting to whatever the outcome was going to be. My immediate concern was making it through the winter, and until the planting seasons begin.

Great suggestion! I can't believe I didn't suggest it myself. I lived in Europe with a washing machine and no dryer. I got used to the drying racks and still use a large one in the US even though I have a dryer now. I do use my dryer, but also love my drying rack.

A year of long term basic food for one person $600 for 450,000 calories Apx 600 LBs.
Apx 30 each #10 cans or 5 cases of each rice, beans, rolled oats, pasta.
It is only basic food so you need store bought canned meats, soups, stews ect.
