I'm in the schools here in GA a lot. Maybe 10% of the kids are wearing masks - same with the teachers. A few got sick the first week in and a ton were sent home to quarantine. Then something strange began to happen, only a couple the next week (out of several hundreds per school), and a couple the next week (now they are no longer testing because a positive means quarantine and parents need the jobs/money). A month in, with no social distancing and no masks, and none this past week in my districts. No deaths or serious illness reported at all. So basically, herd immunity in a month, maybe two doing this?

Realize, too, that the strength of the inoculation a person gets is dependent upon how virulent a form the host has. So, it goes through kids and adults working with kids (who already have a lot of immunities built up from other past colds) and the ones who do get sick have minor cases. As the virus mutates (because that's what viruses do), it becomes less threatening - no more than a little cold. Keep the high-risk away from others. No more problems with COVID.

OR, we can go on acting like the sky is falling for the next two years and complaining about the possible dangers of vaccinations. Your choice.

Nope, YOU are wrong. That's kind of the point of vaccinations, isn't it? To provide herd immunity to a population from a virus like small pox or measles? Once enough people have had it (or are vaccinated against it), it dies off in that population. Plus, there's the normal progression for a cold virus to mutate into less virulent forms over time.

But I guess what I'm asking you is why would you be willing to spend the rest of your life wearing a mask and cowering in your home when you could catch this cold (or be one of the 80% with natural immunity), get over it, and get on with your life like normal?
