My main scope captured a high magnification view of the planet's rotation, and my small refractor captured a wide angle view deliberately over-exposing Mars to reveal nearby stars. When combined you can actually see Mars rotating while it moves in its orbit relative to the background stars! Quoting: Astromut Amazing! Your perception of me is a reflection of you. A couple of nights ago I was looking at the stars with my PVS14 and heard a noise towards one of the neighbors houses. I looked in the direction of the noise and my view was partially blocked by a tree. Moved a few yards and could see my neighbor with what looked initially like a grill. It was 1:30 am and thought it odd to be grilling at that time. Shifted my position to get a better view and he was using a big telescope. I ended up walking over and spent half an hour looking at Mars and the moon with his Celestron 11 inch scope. It was computer controlled and had a monitor. Let him look around with my PVS14. I had a good time and think I have the telescope bug. Wriggly |

The ancients talked about Mars being the planet of bunnies, now it is has been proven. Hmmmm... looks like a liar's face to me? Sign of the times?
