The coming of the night must release some of those endorphins. I also think of it in terms of ayurveda, the doshas, imbalances. I think I can tend to have an inner heat imbalance with the sun. |

I run GLP alien theme. It is all blue/white. You ever have one of those days where your brain/motivation feels like a bowl of jello or mashed potatoes? Where every last molecule of serotonin and dopamine has jumped ship and oxytocin dosed through intermittent interaction with your dog, offers some semblance of a reason to continue to exist? What is the reward system attached to moving through this life as we go? Companionship? Serotonin, oxytocin, dopamine. Reward system..press this lever to receive your reward. Keep pressing. Keep moving forward. [link to youtu.be (secure)] [imgur] [link to imgur.com (secure)] Existing that way didn't do me any favors. It's why I tried to kill myself. I don't know if all people are like this to the same extent, but if I don't have some kind of broader goal, something I feel like acts upon my purpose or my "something only I can do", I just get worse and worse in state of mind. Now I have my sights set on a master's degree only as a means to an ends, the ends being, changing the mental healthcare system. So its something, a reason outside myself, to exist, at the moment it seems like enough. Not that I don't get depressed for other reasons. But I guess, I am sort of on my own physically, no dog, no friends, no significant others, ect, so I need a philosophical or existential motivator. On the other hand, I've been tired anyway. So, so tired, and not with any discernable reason. I took several naps in between school work today. |

The researchers weren't able to transfer the light very far – just 1.2 millimetres or 0.05 inches – but the process outlined here could form the foundation of the quantum-powered computers and communication systems of the future. [link to www.sciencealert.com (secure)] https://imgur.com/HJLvdqT I like how you can see the wave move through first. Wave, then the particles(sparks) in its wake. in that scattered thought the wave is secondary. first the a buildup of separate but equal components illuminate. the idea is formulated in multiple components prior to cognition! if the separate but equal components are not sufficient a cognitive wave cannot occur! most idiots can't produce a wave between themselves! That makes sense. Maybe the wave collects all the bits together to create cognition as it moves through. I saw someone posted God is in the Neurons. Excellent video. Thread: BREAKING! Oct 21, 2020!! new theory of consciousness!!! could this be the main breakthrough, that puts us on the brink of real conscious AI??!!!! According to a new theory developed by Professor Johnjoe McFadden from the University of Surrey, consciousness is the brain’s energy field. The brain’s electromagnetic energy enables brain matter to create our consciousness and our ability to be aware and think. Quoting: Digital mix guy ....McFadden proposes a scientific form of dualism dependent on the contrast among issue and energy, as opposed to matter and soul. The hypothesis depends on scientific fact: when neurons in the brain and nervous system fire, they not just impart the recognizable electrical sign down the wire-like nerve fibers, yet they likewise send pulse of electromagnetic energy into the surrounding tissue. Such energy is normally dismissed, yet it conveys similar data as nerve firings, however, as an irrelevant wave of energy, instead of a progression of particles all through the nerves. McFadden proposes that the brain’s information-rich electromagnetic field is, in fact, itself the seat of consciousness, driving ‘free will’ and voluntary actions. This new theory also accounts for why, despite their immense complexity and ultra-fast operation, today’s computers have not exhibited the slightest spark of consciousness; however, with the right technical development, robots aware and can think for themselves could become a reality. Johnjoe McFadden, Professor of Molecular Genetics and Director of the Quantum Biology Doctoral Training Centre at the University of Surrey, said: “How brain matter becomes aware and manages to think is a mystery that has been pondered by philosophers, theologians, mystics and ordinary people for millennia. I believe this mystery has now been solved. That consciousness is the experience of nerves plugging into the brain’s self-generated electromagnetic field to drive what we call ‘free will’ and our voluntary actions.” [link to www.techexplorist.com (secure)] Difficulties strengthen the Mind as labor does the body... ~Seneca |

Still lots of work to do. But I do have time. Quoting: Light of my Little Left Eye Same here. If I had my choice I'd sleep until next May. :sleepy: I've been so tired. It was so hard to get through one of my boring classes lecture. Some professors are just not good at conveying information. the "self-identity in society" class is the one I'm referring to. Sucked the energy out of me, had to take several naps in between finishing the lectures. Basically the format she did it in was a powerpoint with a little audio clip you had to press play on every time. Sounded like she was just reading from a book every time. Also I found myself leery of some of the main theories in that realm of psychology. Like erikson. I actually think Erikson's life stages theory is kind of meh. which is I thought I never had in the past with psychology. Of course I've been exposed to erikson in almost every class I've taken. but only now have I found myself thinking, well this is kind of stupid. Ill probably elaborate on that when I wake up a bit more |

Obviously there are loans to consider after I graduate. But it's not true of every class. I LOVE acquisition of language. It's so interesting and I never thought it would be. It's caused a lot of philosophical musing for me about what we do constantly, think and communicate linguistically, and the miraculousness of the fact the average adult knows 30,000 to 60,000 words. We take it totally for granted. That's amazing. Where is it all stored? Quoting: Light of my Little Left Eye Well, yeah, classes that make me think like that are great.
