if we are evaluating the hypothesis that consciousness is energy, then psychokinesis, if it existed, would be a demonstration that consciousness was primary and the matter being moved was secondary. so, as I said, an illustration of the fact.

I think the term computer is the misleading part of that idea.
We assume that a simulation of reality would be some kind of computational analogy.
I think that is far too restrictive and lacks imagination.
A simulation might not be a program, for example. A simulation might also, probably or definitely would not be, binary or finite.
If we are speaking of a simulation with the ability to rewrite its own programming and respond to the agents within it, in infinitely variant patterns, then probably we are.
