Quoting: Plato II cats are extremely intelligent dont you think? yes they are intelligent. i'd like to be able to let her in the house over the winter so she doesn't freeze w/out her panicking to get out if the door is closed. my two cats get along with her just fine. She's had two litters. We took the kittens and adopted them out. She has been caught and fixed plus shots. Quoting: Ima Pseudonym She hangs on my porch and plays with my indoor/outdoor cats. I feed her every day. She's bumped my finger a few times and once I touched her tail. She's still very skittish. It's getting cold. Will she ever relent? Aside from feeding a 'wild animal' am I wasting my time trying to tame her? tia I'm kind of in the same situation with a Male. I know there is no way I'm going to get him in a crate much less having him behave for a vet to get fixed. He would come in if I let him but I'm deathly allergic. Like you said ..it's getting cold here shortly and that's a miserable condition to be in. He was so skinny and skiddish when he first came around now he's fat and lazy. I wish I could get him fixed and find him a home. |

Keep two bowls of drinking water outside with new water each day, placed away from the food. Cats don't like their food and water to be near each other. And give cat a pinch catnip a few times a day. And you want the food and water bowls to be a ways from where they sleep, or other animals could bother the cat when they are looking for food. :DOCSRBAFFLED::redblueLED::DONTBEAPANDEMICS: Only you can stop the fake pandemic for yourself, no one will ever tell you the pandemic is over. Farewell American Samoa, the "last stop of today and just a stones throw from tomorrow"and with that said and done I stood up, standing at the end of the day and walked boldly onward into tomorrow and to the given day of rest. |

Takes a little time but they can learn to trust humans. Good luck and God bless you for your mercy. God sees that. Bebe |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 77981930 United States 10/15/2020 04:25 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I had a feral cat show up at my door at midnight one night when I went out to watch the Geminid meteor showers. A half-dozen bites, tons of scratches, a tetanus shot, and more than a year-and-a-half of house-training later, “Bucky” is sleeping peacefully beside my chair on his favorite footstool. He will still run out the door if he spots a chance, but he always comes back within the hour. He has separation anxiety and follows me room to room like a dog. He watches and waits for me to come home if I go out for errands. He prefers to sleep outside on my screened in porch and he still eats like a pig. He loooooves for me to pet him now. He even lets me scratch under his chin and rub his tummy. A year ago I would have had a bloody stub for a hand, lol. He’s getting over his trust issues. It’s been a pain to tame him but totally worth it now! 😺 |
