It's a treasure to read! Quoting: sbt All the little/big things like getting a shower for the first time in the house! He describes how delicious it felt to feel the warm water on his back and his belly. And when I came home from skating, I was SO dirty, my mother sent me to bed without any dinner! Start writing in your diary today! I think that's so cool, sbt. I wish my late father kept a journal or diary. All I have left of him is one single photograph, plus my memories. Supposedly he wrote a novel before he died-- my aunt says she has it. I've asked about it, but she's never shown it to me... Anyway, I actually do keep a journal/diary. I write every morning while I have my coffee. It's mostly a "writing journal", because the purpose was originally to keep track of my thoughts and progress of the novels which I am writing. How many words I write each day, and possibilities of where I might take the story next. Character sketches, things like that. Over time I started including other things that happen in my life, such as dreams I have or notes from phone conversations with friends or my brother. So now it's more of a general-purpose journal, although primarily I use it to keep track of my novel writing progress. Thanks for the this thread! ~Wharf Rat |
