The intelligence agencies already staged an elaborate takedown of the once valid and now invalid site "CENSORED." That site was filled with credible conspiracy theorists that didn't play the politics game. Now its a shallow shell of its former self, a platform for a particular politician to play king of the park. I don't believe that GLP is in danger of being corrupted and silenced because well, it isn't a controversial conspiracy site that exposes real secrets and real conspirators. GLP sticks upon the news.

OK so all this stuff is based on the idea that D-Wave brings "demans" (that's how the guy thinks it's spelled) out of other dimensions. If I could explain that what is pulled in is much more mundane, it might calm things down.

All it "pulls through", if the analogy is right at all, is the solution to a problem. A number.

Here's what a quantum computer does. It forces a certain set of boundary conditions and lets the quantum-bits arrange themselves so as to be consistent with those imposed conditions.

We don't know "how" the quantum bits arrange themselves. If we tried to use a regular computer to come up with a solution to the problem we posed. It might take a long time, maybe years. So what we do instead is to pose the problem and rely on the laws of nature that we've discovered (quantum mechanics) to ensure that nature will provide the solution. We don't know how nature does this. Just that nature does it. More properly, I would say God provides it.

Maybe one can imagine that nature is pulling the solution out of another dimension, or out of its asshole. That's it.
