LOL Quoting: Anonymous Coward 35246687 exploding a 10speed tire in the 80s was a common problem they were selling tires with "Inflate to 90 - 100psi" printed on the sidewall but if you just threw any old tube in the tire kaboom ya needed to get hi pressure tubes you could run low pressure tubes but don't inflate over 80 I ruined many hand pumps getting my tires all the way up to 100 do about 10 - 20 tires and the hose would blow out on the pump so I bought a compressor

It scared the shit out of me and the shockwave hit the truck I was driving so hard I felt it in the door and floor pan. Thought something had hit the truck so I pulled over to look.
