It's the main symptom of bottlenecked change.

Our governing systems have kicked the can of change (or outright kicked it the opposite way of progress out of corruption) down the road for so long, the need for it has bottlenecked.

When change is bottlenecked, it's scary as all hell because once that blockage is removed, it's likely to spray out everywhere.

This forum is an answer to and outlet of that fear that accompanies the drastic need for societal change.

While some may want doom, most are probably just shitposting.

I understand the need for change but why completely destruction? do you think at this point, the change has been so Bottlenecked that our only choice is to just open it up and let it fly? Or is there still a chance at an easy transition?

Because doom comes with conspiracies, A good conspiracy includes doom as a an end result because as was mentioned, it is fear based usually to get more views. Conspiracies usually don't have a happy ending.

I don't know if it is containable at this point. If enough people - ordinary people - stood up and started speaking reassuringly and compassionately to one another, I think we could quell the worst fears that would lead to the most destruction.

When people feel like the community, no matter how big it is, cares about them, they are much less likely to commit desperate acts out of fear of the unknown.

I think your questions help with that.

DOOM!

We love DOOM on GLP...always have. And I'll explain why.

However, you also state that the MAJORITY of GLPers will fail in a SHTF (Shit Hits The Fan) situation. On that you are WRONG! Some GLPers will certainly shit their pants when DOOM arrives, but many are quite well prepared and ready. I could name a few who will shit their pants, but that could be considered taunting fellow members, and that is not allowed. I can also name who is ready, but why should I? {almost anyone from Texas is READY!}

As for DOOM, I do not think we are seeking nor hoping for DOOM, it's just that we live in a world full of possible DOOM events. And GLP is where many of us come to get our news before it's news. And DOOM is always a possibility.

And that is why we warn each-other, to maybe have some time before DOOM arrives to bring our tomato plants inside.

But let's face it Chucky, DOOM is kind of like a horror movie. The scary thrills are actually fun in a way. But as you should know, when a doll comes to life, and kills people...that is some real DOOM! But movies are for kids (just like any Chucky movie) it's just thrills and chills on the Silver Screen.

Yet, real DOOM is for adults. We just can't get scared from a possessed doll with a kitchen knife. That said, I do like Chucky; he says some funny shit!

I know this, when DOOM does knock on my door, I will have my Colt Commander strapped to my side, some extra food and water in a duffel bag, car full of fuel, bicycle ready to go if necessary, and hiking boots if all else fails. I have a couple Baofeng Radios (a favorite of Trinity's) and spare batteries. Although I did not build a Faraday Cage yet, but I should. And when the Sky falls, as Chicken Little fears, maybe none of us will survive.

But I have heard (through GLP rumor) that a secret vault of tomato seeds has been stored somewhere in the Panhandle of Florida; and when the time comes, civilization will rebuild, and the world will thank GLP for the tomato seeds that survived the crisis. And for that, you can be deeply thankful!

Most of the doomers on here don't really have a great life, can't function well in society and wish and desperately hope for a big reset. In their minds they will finally be vindicated when their antisocial behavior is proven right.

That being said, I don't really like modern society that much either.

I got tired of reading comic books so I come here for entertainments . As for the doom thing , years ago a study was conducted in which they asked the spectators of auto racing why they went to the events .
Nearly eighty percent it was discovered went only to see the wrecks . being one who spent many days putting my cars back together after a full event I felt we gave them the money's worth .

They come here in search of wrecks that have happened and wrecks that might be . As for me the racing is about skill .
The threads are entertainment based on the posters skills and experiences redacted in their creations .
There are masterpieces and and much less to be found here .
